⚠ Server-Side Generation — Significant Security Risk
Generating a PGP key on a server is inherently less secure than generating one on your own device. Specifically:
- The server process temporarily holds both the private and public key in memory and in a temporary directory.
- A compromised or malicious server could capture your private key material.
- Even though Tor hides your IP, the server operator could log key material.
- This feature exists only as a last resort for users who cannot generate a key locally.
We strongly advise against using this feature if you can generate a key on your own device.
✓ Recommended: Generate Your Key Locally
Use one of these free, open-source tools to generate a PGP key on your own device — the private key never leaves your machine:
- Linux / macOS / Windows: GnuPG (GPG) — command line:
gpg --full-gen-key - Windows GUI: Kleopatra (part of Gpg4win)
- Android: OpenKeychain
- iOS: PGPro
After generating, export your public key (gpg --armor --export [email protected]) and paste it into the checkout form. Never share your private key.
If you have read the warnings above and cannot generate a key locally, you may use the button below. The server will generate an Ed25519 keypair. The private key will be shown exactly once and then permanently discarded from the server.
